Climate

Rodrigues Island has a pleasant climate with an average temperature varying between 25-29 degrees over the year. At its warmest, during the period January to March the temperatures usually stay within the range from 28-35 degrees and the fishing season extends from September – May. The climate is both drier and warmer than Mauritius and the island is lush with trees, hills, green fields and limestone formations along the coasts. The coral reefs off Rodrigues Island have no impact from outer coral reefs, in the form of plankton and therefore the reefs have a unique ecosystem.
